One Osteopathic "session" includes diagnosis and treatment and always begins with a anamnesis interviewin which the patient describes his or her personal health history and in which current symptoms are discussed in particular.
The diagnostic examination is then carried out exclusively with the hands. Changes in movement in all parts of the body are felt.
During treatment, the osteopath attempts to improve the movements of all restricted tissues in the body, thereby enabling the body to regulate itself better. The patient's body is stimulated to use its inherent self-healing powers and thus bring the person back to a balanced state of health.
Complaints for which osteopathy can be helpful - a small excerpt from the treatment spectrum:
For legal reasons, it must be pointed out that the naming of the exemplary areas of application does not constitute a promise of healing or a guarantee of relief or improvement of the listed medical conditions. The areas of application are based on knowledge and experience in the therapy direction presented here (osteopathy) itself. Not every area has a relevant number of reliable, evidence-based studies that scientifically prove the effect or therapeutic effectiveness.
Osteopathy is equally suitable for all ages, from 0-99. In old age, however, improving the quality of life is the top priority. Not every cause needs to be corrected down to the smallest detail. However, it is usually possible to reduce the problem and achieve an improvement in the symptoms.
Osteopathy also has its limits. Medical emergencies such as heart attacks etc. and serious illnesses always belong in the hands of a doctor. Osteopaths do not want to replace conventional medicine, they simply want to make their contribution to the well-being of the patient.
Visceral osteopathy is about the organs, their function and their connective tissue covering.
In parietal osteopathy, the osteopath deals with the skeletal system, the joints and the muscles.
Craniosacral osteopathy deals with the connection of the nervous system from the head to the coccyx.
